And now for something completely different...If you're a fan of Monty Python's Flying Circus, you'll remember this phrase, often used on that classic television programme to indicate the advent of a new sketch.
I've tossed around the idea of a new project in the last couple of posts here. A huge question mark looms...what is that something that's completely different? In other words, what more is there to say about VIA Rail Canada that hasn't already been said? Well quite a bit actually, I would suspect.
As other VIAphiles know, there's a lot of interest in VIA, its trains, its evolution and its relatively short history, in large part due to Rapido Trains' ongoing releases of VIA equipment. There were some very interesting trains on CN and CP tracks over the past 35 years, with blue and yellow painted on them somewhere...VIA trains.
Trackside with VIA - The First 35 Years includes nearly all of my VIA observations since 1976, but ultimately there's more to say. Much more. So naturally I'm open to suggestions. If you were able to pull a book off the shelf and read about some aspect of VIA that was previously not available, what would that be on those pages?
Now that familiar word, that always heralds a new journey...
Highball!
